Cryoelectra was established in 1992 as a privately owned company of limited liability (GmbH) under
German Law.
The foundation of Cryoelectra was promoted by an international group of scientists and by former
students of the Physics Department of the University of Wuppertal. The core activities of Cryoelectra
have their roots in University studies of Accelerator Electronics performed in the early nineteen
sixties and in research work in superconducting accelerating cavities starting in 1972.
Today Cryoelectra is predominantly devoted to the application of modern solid state electronic
technology, low temperature physics, rf superconductivity and computer systems engineering to particle accelerator systems
and to wireless communication.
Managing Director of Cryoelectra is Prof. Dr. Helmut Piel.
In January 2003 Cryoelectra and
ACCEL Instruments GmbH, Bergisch
Gladbach, one of the world's leading companies in design and manufacture of Turn Key Accelerator
Systems, have established a strategic partnership based on their mutual interests
